I Feel Like a Tree

i feel like a tree
one with few leaves
people read under me,
children climb me,
lovers carve into me,
dogs piss on me,
birds live on me,
but no one loves me.
I am just standing here
silent and still
and sometimes swaying in the breeze
through rainy days and sunny days
through all the seasons and all the years
they benefit from me in some way
but I am all alone at the end of each day
unless you consider snoring squirrels and busy bugs company
The reality of my existence is that no one wants me
i just happen to be here for all to use
I am just Standing here as the world changes around me
I give and I give and they take and they take
